Description

This is a Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, a potter who carries on the tradition of masters Rokuro and Shin Nakamura to create works of profound character. The body is entirely coated in ash, yet features a unique band-like "nuke" (clearance) accent. In contrast to the body, the foot is softer in texture, allowing one to enjoy the distinct scarlet earth tones characteristic of the Nakamura family. The shape is slightly constricted at the waist, making it fit comfortably in the fingers. Signed wooden box (double-slat)
Diameter 7.0cm × Diameter 6.8cm × Height 4.8cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
