Description
This Bizen teacup is by Takao Kibata, who made his long-awaited debut after nine years of diligent training as a pupil of Jun Isezaki. The piece brilliantly brings out the qualities of the clay; its texture, with a matte finish and no luster, features a gradation from dark brown to black, creating a deep hue that grows more captivating the longer you look at it. The combination of its superb clay texture and simple form gives the teacup a very stylish, avant-garde ceramic atmosphere. While it has a modern style, it retains the characteristic of Bizen ware to harmonize with any space or setting, making it a delightful item for everyday use.
