Description

This Bizen teacup is by Takao Kibata, who made his long-awaited debut after nine years of diligent training as an apprentice to Jun Isezaki. The work magnificently brings out the potential of the clay; the earth-toned texture, which graduates from dark brown to black, has a matte finish without luster, and its deep hue becomes more captivating the longer you look at it. The combination of the superb clay texture and the simple form creates an atmosphere that is both stylish and avant-garde, despite it being a teacup. Although it has a modern style, it possesses the characteristic of Bizen ware that allows it to harmonize with any space or setting, making it a delightful piece for everyday use.
