Description
This Ibe mug is by Takao Kibata, who made his highly anticipated debut after nine years of dedicated apprenticeship under Jun Isezaki. The form, designed for easy stacking, adds an interesting accent to what is otherwise a simple mug. The rim and handle are thinly crafted, achieving both ease of use and a sharp silhouette. The black of the Ibe pottery is accented by sesame (goma) glaze, creating beautiful shading.
