Description
This is a hikidashi (pulled-out) sake cup by Takao Kibata, who made his long-awaited debut after nine years of dedicated apprenticeship under Jun Isezaki. The piece is covered in a natural glaze that has liquefied across the surface, which was then transformed into a transparent, glass-like finish through the hikidashi technique. This glass-like natural glaze is incredibly pleasant to the touch, providing a smooth texture that perfectly complements the simple form. The exceptionally thick foot is truly dynamic, and the inside of the foot has carbonized into a magnificent silver hue.
