Description
This is an Ibe tea cup by Tomio Ochi, who diligently focuses on kiln firing under the guidance of Anjin Abe, pouring his lingering passion into his ceramics. The piece was slowly formed by hand, and when held, it has a sense of profound weight, as if the clay has been condensed into high density. It is a somewhat heavy piece, and combined with its intense firing and robust form, it possesses a powerful presence that feels as if it is reaching out to you despite being a tea cup. The Ibe-te surface, which resembles simmered dark brown, has a beautiful luster, making it a joy to both behold and touch.
Signed wooden box to be provided later (please note that it will take some time before shipment).
