Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Go Kaneshige, who established his kiln in Kukui and continues his research and pottery making there. It is a work with a powerful contrast between black and red, characteristic of Go-sensei, who burns with an extraordinary passion for kiln-altered firing. While it is fired to a crisp, the interior features a soft, scarlet clay texture that promises to develop a beautiful patina with use. The powerful atmosphere of the notched foot complements the intense coloration perfectly.
