Description
This is a Bizen small plate by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of the leading master of the Kaneshige lineage, Kosuke Kaneshige. Committed to traditional methods of preparing clay, he uses soil that has been manually refined and aged in a storehouse for many years. The bright brown tone of the clay is remarkably elegant, capturing the vibrant vitality of the earth within a sophisticated, weathered aesthetic. While the refined style is versatile enough for any dish or sweet, it is particularly well-suited for fruits or Japanese confections, as the plate significantly enhances their colors.
