Description

This Kohiki tea cup is the work of popular young ceramic artist Yoshiteru Koriki, a former apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. The piece catches the eye with the beautiful white glaze inherited from his mentor, Sozan. This clean, cool-toned white glaze is perfect for the coming season. The orthodox style characteristic of Koriki makes it a versatile piece suitable for any user, and an ideal gift. Beneath the brilliant, snow-like white glaze lies a powerful thrown texture, evoking the image of the earth waiting for spring while hidden under snow. Paper box

After seven years of training, he established his own climbing kiln in Shizutani, Bizen City in 1996 and launched his first successful firing the following year.
