Description

This Ao-ido tea bowl is by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with a superior aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and form. A great lover of ceramics, Morimoto was captivated by the celebrated Ido tea bowls and arrived at this magnificent piece after exhaustive research. The bowl features powerful, seemingly infinite curves, beautifully complemented by a dignified, upright foot. True to his diligent nature as a researcher of glazes, Morimoto has achieved a stunning *kai-ragi* (plum blossom) glaze effect that is truly a sight to behold. Signed wooden box (shiho-san style)
