Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Junpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. This piece features a unique *yohen* (kiln transformation) and earth texture that differs from his usual style. The thickly applied *haikaburi* (ash glaze) is a beautiful, deep black, with the rim area appearing as if shimmering black crystals are seeping out. The interior is also unusual for Junpei, boasting an intensely vibrant color; despite its dry texture, it exhibits a brilliant orange hue that makes the surface appear to glow.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
