Description

This sake cup is created by Shusaku Taku, an artist who transforms the inspirations of daily life into form, working with Bizen ware that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. The subtle irregularities and clay flow created by the coiling technique give the piece a powerful sense of movement, and when held, it integrates with your palm, making you feel as if you are grasping the clay itself. Based on a gentle triangle, the peaks of the rim, body, and base are all offset, adding a relaxed rotation and swell to the entire piece. Its three-dimensional form is like a miniature tea bowl, reflecting the keen sense of Shusaku Taku.
