Description
This round tray is the work of Shusaku Taku, an artist who shapes his pieces by fermenting his daily inspirations like yeast, using Bizen ware that has matured alongside the continuous activities of people throughout history. Reflecting Taku-sensei’s keen interest in food culture, this round tray is sized to suit anything from sashimi and fruit to vegetables and simmered dishes. The balance between the *goma* (ash glaze) and *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings is magnificent, with the center featuring a vivid *hidasuki* and the rim a rich, deep *goma*. The colors are sure to become even more beautiful with use. It would also be lovely to use for displaying flowers or other decorative items.
