Description

This sake cup features the gentle scarlet-hued earth tones characteristic of Iwao Kaneshige, who was born and raised in the prestigious Kaneshige family lineage and diligently continues his craft in the kiln used by the legendary masters Toyo Kaneshige and Michiaki Kaneshige. Crafted using the high-quality clay handed down through the Kaneshige family—prepared with great time and effort—this piece possesses a rustic yet profound quality that draws the viewer in the more they look at it, along with a pleasing texture. The sake cup is imbued with a magnificent scarlet hue that seems to respond to the affection Iwao has poured into the clay. Signed wooden box (double-braced)
