Description
This is a new four-sun Bizen plate by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Focusing on the theme of "toriawase" (harmonious combination), which has been a central focus of his recent work, Morimoto-sensei has created this piece to be enjoyed in combination with the sake vessels he has released in the past. Measuring just under 15 centimeters, this versatile plate is perfectly sized for use as an individual serving dish at a dinner party or for serving sweets. The firing is a quintessential example of Morimoto’s signature "old Bizen" style; fine, sesame-like ash deposits form layered patterns, while the faded *hidasuki* (fire cord) markings create a sophisticated and understated landscape.
