Description
This is a new four-sun Bizen plate by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Focusing on the theme of "coordination" (toriawase), which has been central to Morimoto’s recent work, he has created tableware designed to be enjoyed in combination with the sake vessels and other pieces he has released in the past. The versatile rectangular shape offers great freedom in pairing, and with a little creativity, it will surely enliven any dining table or drinking session. The reduced-fire hidasuki (fire-cord) scenery, characterized by a deep scarlet pattern on the gray background that Morimoto focuses on, reveals an even more beautiful aesthetic when the piece is soaked in water before use.
