Description
This is a new 4-sun Bizen plate by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. Focusing on the theme of "toriawase" (coordination/pairing)—a central theme in his recent work—he has created this piece to be enjoyed in combination with the sake vessels and other items he has previously released. At just under 15 cm, it is a versatile size that can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as an appetizer plate for sake gatherings or a dessert plate. The reduction-fired *hidasuki* (fire-cord) effect, featuring a dark *hidasuki* pattern against the gray surface that the artist has been perfecting, reveals an even more beautiful character if you soak it in water before use.
