Description
This is a Bizen sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his handling of clay, firing, and craftsmanship. The interior features fine sesame glaze (goma) that has fallen like a snowy landscape, which, combined with the fire-cord (hidaski) markings, creates an incredibly sophisticated aesthetic. The clay texture on the exterior, with its matte black base accented by fire-fading and yellow sesame glaze, perfectly recreates the skin of antique Bizen ware; its intense firing and delicate, non-glossy clay texture resonate deeply. This non-glossy surface, rich in minute details, promises to evolve slowly as it is used over time.
