Description
A new Ibe tea bowl by Mashiro Aiga, an artist who creates impeccably honest and resolute works. This is an Ibe-te piece made by applying iron-rich clay, with a focus on highlighting the delicate natural gradations of the clay itself; it features various colors based on a chocolate-like earthy tone. The "goma" (ash glaze) brings out the characteristic black of the Ibe style, while the areas surrounding the ash exhibit subtle black gradations across the surface topography due to the influence of fine ash particles. The meticulously refined form is also magnificent, with the elegant cylindrical shape perfectly complemented by a powerful foot finished with double nail-carved grooves.
Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
