Description
This is a Bizen ware tripod mukozuke (small side dish bowl) by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, a leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Even in an increasingly mechanized pottery world, he insists on traditional clay preparation methods, resulting in a rustic charm that is perfectly suited for tableware. As if to cherish the rich quality of the clay, fine *goma* (ash glaze) sprinkles gently across the surface, creating a subtle yet profound landscape. True to Jumpei-sensei’s style of incorporating stylish details into standard forms, the tripod’s curled feet are undeniably charming.
