Description

This is a Bizen three-legged mukozuke dish by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, the leading figure of the Kaneshige family. Even in a pottery world that is increasingly mechanized, the rustic charm of pieces created with a commitment to traditional clay preparation is perfect for tableware. As if to admire the rich, earthy flavor of the clay, fine, scattered sesame ash glaze gently strokes the surface, creating a subtle yet evocative landscape. The three curled feet are undeniably charming, reflecting Jumpei’s signature style of incorporating stylish designs into the finer details of what might otherwise appear to be a standard piece.
