Description
This is a Bizen three-legged mukozuke (side dish bowl) by Jumpei Kaneshige, the eldest son of Kosuke Kaneshige, a leading master of the Kaneshige school. Even in a pottery world increasingly driven by mechanization, he insists on traditional clay preparation methods, creating a rustic charm that is perfectly suited for tableware. As if to admire the deep character of the clay, a fine dusting of "sesame" ash glaze gently brushes the surface, forming a subtle yet evocative aesthetic. The three-legged "scrolled foot" design is characteristic of Jumpei-sensei—a standard form elevated by the stylish, charming details he applies.
