Shino tea bowl

This Shino tea bowl by Osamu Suzuki is the work of an artist who learns from ancient pottery to discern its essence, yet continues to create Shino for a new era without being bound by tradition. In the magnificent red, which seems like a lotus-red flame embodied in the form of a tea bowl, one can catch a glimpse of the solid skill and vast knowledge of Osamu Suzuki. The molding is calculated down to the subtle angle of the spatula's entry, yet it is grand and imposing, resulting in a design that feels both meticulously precise and exceptionally bold and refreshing. Through skillful spatula carving, he freely manipulates the feldspar glaze, allowing the crimson flames to create beautiful shadows against the white, lending the entire piece a greater sense of depth. Furthermore, the facet-cutting with the spatula allows it to fit perfectly in the user's hand, ensuring a comfortable feel despite its large and bold form.
