Description

This is a new Bizen "left-facing horse" (hidari-uma) rice bowl, fired in the new kiln of Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This auspicious rice bowl is crafted to commemorate the first firing of the kiln and is stamped with the "left-facing horse" (a mirrored character for "horse"), known as a good-luck charm. Due to the humidity and reduction characteristics of this particular kiln, the *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings are adorned with gold-like highlights. The *hidasuki* patterns shimmer as they absorb moisture, making every meal a delight. Paper box
