Description

This is a new Bizen "Hidari-uma" (left-facing horse) rice bowl fired in the new kiln of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This auspicious rice bowl is crafted to commemorate the first firing of the kiln and is engraved with a "left-facing horse"—a mirror-image kanji for "horse." Due to the humidity and reduction characteristic of this kiln's firing, the *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings are accented with gold. The *hidasuki* glows as it absorbs moisture, making every meal a delight. Paper box
