Description
This is a new Bizen "Left-Facing Horse" rice bowl, fired in the new kiln of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. This auspicious rice bowl is crafted to commemorate the kiln's inaugural firing and features an engraving of a "left-facing horse" (hidari-uma), with the character for "horse" written in mirror image. Due to the humidity and reduction characteristic of this particular firing, the "hidasuki" (fire-cord) markings are adorned with a golden sheen. The hidasuki glows as it absorbs moisture, making every meal a delight.
