Description
This new Bizen black tea cup was fired in the new kiln of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe, has loved Bizen ware since childhood, and finds joy in creating works and firing kilns. Due to the firing in the new kiln and seasonal factors, the "goma" (ash glaze) has taken on a matte ash-gray hue, while the black surface has turned into a metallic black with subtle bluish tints and gold highlights. Its unique surface, which shimmers brilliantly, possesses a mysterious luster like that of a raw gemstone. Although it is a tea cup, it features an elaborate design meticulously created through chamfering, and the complex interplay of the beveled edges complements the shimmering black surface perfectly.
