Description
This new Bizen sake cup is the work of Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the rigorous path of pottery while following in the footsteps of his father, the master potter Susumu Kaneshige. By firing his pieces in a separate kiln from his father, Tamon has cultivated his own unique appreciation for the clay. The heavily fired ash-covered sections feature natural green glaze, forming a rugged, rock-like kiln-altered texture. The "nuke" (clear spot) on the front reveals a subtle orange hue, showcasing a rich, mellow clay quality that will delight any sake enthusiast with the way it develops through use.
