Description

This is a new Bizen sake cup by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the rigorous path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, Susumu Kaneshige. By firing his pieces in a separate kiln from his father, Tamon has cultivated a unique taste in the clay he uses. Fired using carefully selected clay, this piece features a brilliant, deep red kiln transformation that makes the cup appear as if it is glowing; I believe you will see a truly magnificent and beautiful scarlet hue when using it. Happily, the interior also exhibits a splendid scarlet color, which, combined with the bold molding, ensures that the viewer will never tire of it. Signed wooden box to follow (please allow some time for shipping)
Diameter 7.3cm x 6.5cm x Height 7.3cm Tamon Kaneshige was born in Okayama City in 1977. He graduated from the Faculty of Business and Commerce at Keio University in 2000.
