Description

This Bizen black tea cup was fired in the new kiln of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe and has loved Bizen ware since childhood, finding his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. Due to the firing in the new kiln and seasonal factors, the "goma" (sesame glaze) has taken on a matte, ash-gray hue, while the black surface has turned into a metallic black with a subtle bluish tint and hints of gold. The thick, viscous goma flows along the undulating wheel marks, fully conveying the intensity of the firing. Even the foot and the overall structure feature a deep, recessed design, reflecting the unique creativity characteristic of Baba-sensei. Paper box
