Description
This is a new Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who creates profound works that carry on the legacy of master sake vessel craftsmen Rokuro Nakamura and Makoto Nakamura. Distinct from the "sweet" (amai) firing style that is a hallmark of the Nakamura family, this piece features a sophisticated, austere landscape achieved through a thorough reduction firing. The front displays a vibrant scarlet "hi-iro" hue that promises to develop beautifully with use, complemented by magnificent shiso-colored accents. The interior surface has a rich, viscous, and slightly orange-tinted clay texture that possesses a captivating charm, making you want to nurture it from the moment you lay eyes on it.
Signed wooden box (double-crosspiece)
