Description
This Bizen black coffee set is the work of Masao Akitani, who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality within a modern spirit. This piece unites the fresh perspective cultivated under Jun Isezaki with a design philosophy driven by his own desire as a pottery enthusiast to prioritize usability. While retaining a stylish black texture, the prominent *goma* (ash glaze) and *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings characteristic of Bizen ware add a sense of warmth to the innovative design. The saucer is quite stylish on its own and would also be interesting to use as a small individual serving plate.
