Description
This is a new Bizen Hidasuki sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who is constantly evolving in his approach to clay, firing, and craftsmanship. This piece was created using rare Kannon clay, and succeeds in bringing out the full potential of the material. The Hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern, neither too vivid nor too dull, is exquisite, appearing as if it has seeped into the surface of the clay. The moist, light azuki-bean-colored texture of the clay has an evocative presence so refined that it creates the illusion that the scent of the earth itself is stimulating your senses.
