Description
This is a black bowl by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality within a new spirit. It is a medium-sized bowl, larger than a rice bowl or small serving bowl, but smaller than a deep bowl. It features hallmarks of Akitani’s style throughout, matching the cool "kuro-bizen" (black Bizen ware) characteristic of Isezaki Bizen with a classic, versatile form. The chic black color makes it easy to pair with any type of food, and it also complements the *goma* (ash glaze) and *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings typical of Bizen ware, with a landscape that blends understated elegance and dynamism unfolding on the inside.
