Description

This black bowl is by Masao Akitani, an artist who studied under Living National Treasure Jun Isezaki and creates works brimming with unique originality within a fresh spirit. It is a medium-sized bowl—larger than a rice or small side dish bowl, but smaller than a deep bowl. Featuring Masao Akitani's signature style throughout, it perfectly matches the cool "Black Bizen" characteristic of Isezaki Bizen with an orthodox, user-friendly form. Black is chic and pairs easily with any type of food; furthermore, it complements Bizen's *goma* (ash glaze) and *hidasuki* (fire cord) patterns, creating a landscape inside the bowl that harmonizes austerity with a sense of dynamism.
