Description

This is a new Bizen Hidasuki sake cup by Yoshinobu Morimoto, an artist with an exceptional aesthetic sense who continues to evolve in his use of clay, firing techniques, and craftsmanship. True to its name as a small cup (choko), it is very compact and endearing, yet it allows one to enjoy the refined firing and clay quality characteristic of Morimoto's work. Despite its small size, the color of the Hidasuki (fire-cord) pattern is exceptional; it features a wabi-sabi aesthetic with muted scarlet markings against an azuki-bean colored surface. The use of carefully selected clay gives it a magnificent texture that is a pleasure to touch even after you have finished your drink. In terms of diameter, it is about two sizes smaller than a standard sake cup. Signed wooden box (shiho-san) included
