Description
This is a new Bizen hidasuki shochu cup by Yoshiteru Koriki, a popular young artist and apprentice to the master Sozan Kaneshige. It is an excellent work where a dark, fine-grained kase-goma (dry ash glaze) intertwines with a vivid orange clay body. The edges of the kase sections shimmer with a dull black-silver glow, further emphasizing the contrast with the orange clay. The fineness of the kase is remarkable, and the slight texture felt under the fingers makes it feel more like Japanese washi paper than ceramic.
