Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the rigorous path of pottery, following in the footsteps of his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. The sake cup, which possesses an elegant atmosphere even among sake vessels, features the withered firing characteristic of Tamon-sensei's work, resulting in a quiet, serene piece that still retains the excellent quality of the clay. The interior features a beautiful scarlet surface born from carefully selected clay, allowing one to enjoy observing the changes in the clay's appearance as the aroma of the sake unfolds. The astringent, greenish matte sesame glaze (kase-goma) will likely continue to soften and develop further with continued use.
