Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the rigorous path of pottery as the son of the master Susumu Kaneshige. It is part of a series featuring Tamon-sensei's original design, which resembles a miniature version of his cylindrical tea cup. True to his words—"The members of the Kaneshige family each look in different directions when they create pottery; even between parent and child, this leads to differences in style"—the spirited, warrior-like form reflects Tamon-sensei's own aesthetic. The firing is outstanding, and the orange clay body pairs perfectly with the green of the *kase-goma* (rough ash) glaze.
