Description
This Hidasuki tokkuri (sake bottle) is the work of Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the rigorous path of pottery under his father, the late Susumu Kaneshige. The Hidasuki technique, which leaves the clay surface exposed, is a true specialty of the Kaneshige family, and the slightly coarse texture of the clay has fired into a magnificent, serene white hue. With repeated use, the slightly rough surface will gradually wear down, transforming into a smooth, polished texture. Featuring a refined, curvilinear beauty, this piece even exudes the atmosphere of a vase.
