Description
This Bizen sake cup is by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his skills on the rigorous path of pottery, having been born to his father, the master Susumu Kaneshige. This sake cup is from a series based on Tamon-sensei's own unique design, resembling a miniature version of a cylindrical teacup. True to his own words, "The Kaneshige family all face in different directions in their pottery, which leads to differences in style, even between parent and child," the piece’s valiant, youthful form reflects the artist's personal aesthetic. With a well-balanced combination of ash-covered glaze, matte sesame-like speckling, and scarlet tones, paired with the excellent quality of the clay, this is a delightful piece to use.
