Description
This is a Bizen ware *warisansho* (cracked prickly ash bowl) by Tamon Kaneshige, who continues to hone his craft on the rigorous path of pottery as the son of the late Susumu Kaneshige. Distinct from the sensuality of Sozan Kaneshige and the boldness of Susumu Kaneshige, this piece showcases Tamon’s unique style—meticulous, yet swift and sharp. Created using the same clay as his father Susumu, the piece features a magnificent gradient in its exterior clay texture, transitioning from a light brown to a rich, viscous *shiso*-red. The interior displays a dry, sand-like matte yellow sesame glaze (*kigoma*), which enhances the luster and color of the food served within.
