Description
This is a new Bizen hidasuki sake cup by Megumi Sueda, a female artist who studied under Anjin Abe and captivates fans with her unique work. Like her mentor Anjin Abe, the hidasuki (fire-cord) markings cover the entire piece without interruption, but there is a distinct approach in how Ms. Sueda brings out these lines. She creates deep, straight hidasuki lines across the white surface, giving the pattern an interesting sense of contrast. The interior also features a vivid gradation of hidasuki, and the exceptional quality born from her meticulous firing technique ensures this piece remains endlessly fascinating.
