Description

This new Bizen kiln-altered sake bottle is the work of Kazuki Nakamura, who follows in the tradition of masters Rokuro and Makoto Nakamura to create deeply expressive pieces. The rustic form characteristic of the Nakamura family possesses the very qualities sought in a sake vessel: a design that one never tires of and the warmth of the clay surface, packing all the best features of a Bizen sake bottle into one. It features an excellent balance between the well-fired ash glaze and the softer, natural "nuke" markings that promise to develop a rich patina through use. As you enjoy sake made mellow by the Bizen clay, you can take time to appreciate and cultivate the surface, watching as its appearance evolves into a one-of-a-kind treasure. Signed wooden box (double-slat lid)
Rim 3.8cm × Body diameter 11.0cm × Body diameter 11.0cm × Height 10.7cm; Capacity approx. 400cc Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Makoto Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to hone his pottery skills. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
