Description

This is a new Bizen sake cup by Kazuki Nakamura, an artist who carries on the tradition of his grandfather, the master of sake ware Rokuro Nakamura, and his father, Shin Nakamura, to create works of profound depth. Just as sake creates a mystical flavor from nothing more than rice and water, this piece was created from nothing more than earth and fire, with the clay matured as if it were being brewed to produce a mystical beauty. This piece has been thoroughly fired, and while it retains the *hi-iro* (scarlet color) that sake lovers cherish, it also offers a delightful view of the austere, weathered natural ash glaze typical of Bizen ware. The rim was finished with Kazuki Nakamura’s delicate touch, and its dynamic shape, inherited from the "god of sake ware" Rokuro Nakamura, ensures that your sake is delivered to you with the utmost pleasure. Original wooden box (Nihōsan style)
Diameter 8.0cm x Diameter 7.9cm x Height 4.8cm Kazuki Nakamura was born in 1980 as the eldest son of Shin Nakamura. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Okayama University in 2003, he studied under his grandfather and father to refine his ceramic techniques. He fired his first kiln and became an independent artist in 2006.
