Description

This is a Bizen black carved teacup by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating pieces and firing the kiln. True to Mr. Baba's own words that it was "a highly successful kiln firing," this is a luxurious teacup generously coated in rich yellow sesame glaze. This thick glaze works in synergy with the carved design, with the steps created by the carving adding a rhythmic flow to the glaze. Every piece has taken the flames head-on, and the rich yellow sesame glaze has pooled beautifully in the interior, creating a landscape reminiscent of scooping up gold dust that is endlessly captivating. Each individual piece features a unique carved design, reflecting Mr. Baba's meticulous attention to detail. Paper box
