Description

This Bizen black shaved yunomi (teacup) is by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. As Baba-sensei remarked, "It was a highly successful kiln firing," this is a luxurious teacup generously coated in rich yellow sesame glaze. The thick yellow sesame glaze creates a synergistic effect with the shaved design, where the ridges created by the carving give rhythm and variation to the flowing glaze. Every piece has caught the flames head-on, with an abundance of yellow sesame glaze flowing into the interior, creating a view reminiscent of scooping up gold dust that is endlessly captivating. Each piece features a unique shaved design, reflecting Baba-sensei's meticulous attention to detail. Paper box
