Description

This is a Bizen black-carved tea cup by Takashi Baba, an artist born in Imbe who has loved Bizen ware since childhood and finds his life's joy in creating works and firing kilns. True to Baba's own words that it was "an incredibly successful kiln firing," this is a luxurious tea cup generously coated in rich yellow sesame glaze. The thick yellow glaze creates a synergistic effect with the carved design, with the grooves in the carving lending a sense of rhythm to the flowing sesame patterns. Every piece has squarely faced the flames, with an abundance of yellow glaze flowing into the interior; the sight is as captivating as panning for gold dust, and one never tires of looking at it. Each piece features a unique carved design, reflecting Baba's dedicated craftsmanship. Paper box
