Description
This is a new Bizen tea cup by Hisanaga Koide, who made his highly anticipated debut after completing a long apprenticeship under Juro Harada. It is a piece that embodies a style combining the boldness and delicacy inherited from his mentor, concealing a delicate quality of clay that suddenly catches the eye amidst the intense firing. Beyond the firing and clay quality, the piece skillfully expresses boldness and delicacy, as well as stillness and motion, in its form; the strong wheel marks created by the coil-building technique and the boldly carved foot are magnificent. Although thick and striking in appearance, the piece is not too heavy, and its ease of use and the robustness unique to Bizen will enrich your daily life.
