Description
This Bizen teapot is the work of Takashi Baba, who was born in Imbe, has loved Bizen ware since childhood, and finds his life's joy in creating pieces and firing the kiln. The piece is fired in a way that resembles steaming, resulting in a surface that has undergone strong reduction to achieve a faint, silvery sheen. The *hidasuki* (fire-cord) markings also shimmer faintly, giving this Bizen piece a unique atmosphere that makes it look almost as if it were made of iron. The design, which fully showcases Takashi Baba's sense of style, becomes more endearing the longer you look at it, with its free-hand cut lid and a knob shaped like a spiral shell adding a playful touch.
